Professor Fuks performed his PhD thesis at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg (Germany). His project, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Jean Rommelaere , concerned the regulation of the parvoviral early promoter (P4) activity.

Next, François joined the laboratory of Prof. Tony Kouzarides at the Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge (UK) , where he initiated his work on epigenetics.

After his postdoctoral training in Cambridge, François joined the laboratory of Prof. Yvan de Launoit at the Faculty of Medicine, ULB – Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), and pursued the studies he started in Cambridge.

Currently, François is a full professor and the Director of the Laboratory of Cancer Epigenetics, at the Faculty of Medicine, ULB – Université Libre de Bruxelles and Bordet Institute.

He is honorary Research Director of the Belgian « FRS-FNRS« . (see Research interests for further details) and he is also the Director of the ULB Cancer Research Center (U-CRC).
